She has been a loyal supporter of many events such as McKinney Make a Difference Day, Support the Red, White and Blue and Food Basket Program for the elderly.

Deborah's sense of community is far reaching and extends on a state level as well as national. Deborah went through a rigorous selection process to be chosen to participate in Leadership Texas. The selection process is competitive and not all who apply are accepted. A year long program conducted at various locations throught the state of Texas who examines the issues challenging our state and provides forward thinking solutions that will lead the state forward in the coming years.

In the last 20 years Deborah has devoted many hours toward the betterment of women of all races and ages through her active involvement in the Business and Professional Women's Organization of Texas. A non profit organization of women who come together through advocacy, education and information to work for the betterment of women. She has served in every state office including being State President (membership of 3,000 and national memebership of 40,000). She has traveled through out the state advocating women's issues and has even lobbied in Washington to gain support for the equal pay act.

Deborah has also been involved with state legislative days in Austin through supporting and attending Legislative Days.
